This course has got four lectures, the first lecture discusses the
sources used in external beam radiotherapy, from superficial therapy to linear
accelerators and the basic terminologies used, the second discusses the factors
used for determination of dose such as PPD, TAR, TMR, TPR, SMR and SAR and their
dependence on other factors, the third lecture discusses the calculation
methods for MU / treatment time and the fourth lecture discusses treatment planning
techniques for 2D and 3D treatments , basic tissue inhomogeneity correction and
calculation for irregular fields. There are about 10 MCQs for each
lecture and the student has to complete them successfully to proceed to the
next lecture. A certificate can be downloaded once all the assignments
are completed successfully.
